ENG I was a very curious child. I grew up in a rural setting, surrounded by farm animals, insects, and trees. This connection with nature fostered a desire to understand how the world around me unfolded, with the changing seasons and the migration of birds. My mother sewed, and my father crafted wooden tools. So my creativity wasn't limited to drawing; I loved exploring other fields like sewing and sculpture.
ESP Era una niña muy curiosa. Crecí en un entorno rural, rodeada de animales de granja, insectos y árboles. El contacto con la naturaleza hizo que desarrollara una inquietud por conocer cómo se desarrollaba el mundo a mi alrededor, con el cambio de las estaciones y el tránsito de los pájaros. Mi madre cosía y mi padre hacía herramientas de madera. Así que mi creatividad no se reducía a dibujar, sino que me encantaba explorar otros campos como el de la costura o la escultura.
Fine Arts in Seville
ENG At 18, I began my Fine Arts studies in Seville. It was a period of experimentation, linked to the Academy's classical methodology and to the Baroque movement so prevalent in the city. The embroidered mantles of the Virgins during Holy Week, the goldsmithing, and the horror vacui would influence my work more than I could have imagined at the time.
ESP Con 18 años, comencé la carrera de Bellas Artes en Sevilla. Fue un periodo de experimentación ligado a la metodología clásica de la Academia, y al movimiento Barroco tan presente en la ciudad. Los mantos bordados de las Vírgenes de Semana Santa, la orfebrería y el horror vacui influiríran en mi obra más de lo que en ese momento podía imaginar.
UK and Italy
ENG From 2009 to 2015, I lived between London and Turin. During this time, I completed a Master's degree in Contemporary Art and a PhD in Fine Arts. My work evolved from classical drawing to abstract painting linked to spirituality. I also created a series of installations that sought a space of peace amidst the wars and the starry skies of the Alps.
ESP Desde 2009 hasta 2015 viví entre Londres y Turín. En este tiempo estudié un máster en Arte Contemporáneo y terminé mi doctorado en Bellas Artes. Mi creación pasó del dibujo clásico a la pintura abstracta ligada a la espiritualidad. Además, realicé una serie de instalaciones que reclamaban un espacio de paz entre las guerras y los cielos estrellados de los Alpes.

ENG My return to Spain meant reconnecting with textiles, with the resilience of craftsmanship, and incorporating drawing as part of a technical approach at the service of my language. My most recent works reflect that blend of tradition and contemporary style that I have absorbed throughout my career as an artist, teacher, researcher, and inventor, always with an open heart.
ESP Mi vuelta a España significó reconectar con lo textil, con la resiliencia de la artesanía y la incorporación del dibujo como parte de un despliegue técnico al servicio de mi idioma. Mis obras más recientes reflejan esa mezcla de tradición y contemporaneidad que he absorbido durante mi trayectoria como artista, profesora, investigadora e inventora, siempre a corazón abierto.
